finally

My little papercut web is now hanging in the window with the rest of the Project-X show. I took some pictures of it hanging and the reflections of light on my skin and shirt so you can see the effect I had been working towards. I'm pretty pleased with how it looks.

Thursday pt. 2

Almost forgot! I made a very necessary trip to Blick yesterday to get some also very necessary supplies for arts and crafts making! Pattiann let me borrow her Olfa knife for paper cuts, and I can't use anything else now, but it was only $7 so that's exciting. More papercuts to come!

Thursday

Spring Break means I am reunited with my baby owl cat, Eliza (named after Eliza Thornberry)! She's a darling. I was also finally able to do some shopping this week. I got the straw cloche you see in this photo - although I was looking at the tag and it said 100% paper, which is interesting. It said not to get it wet. So I suppose I shouldn't wear it to row boats or to the beach - bummer! It's the perfect hat for those sorts of things!
Anyhow, I also got some sweet brown vintage shorts, a long high waisted blue skirt, a lovely button back blouse, a gingham shirt dress, some new t-strap flats, and finally! pants! The pants are from Slash - on College near Ashby - the best place to get new jeans, in my opinion. I got the shoes and the hat at Urban, guiltily. I found the blouse and dress at Mercy Vintage on Piedmont Ave - a wonderful store that moved from San Pablo recently and changed their name. I would buy so much more from them if I had the monies. Lastly, the skirt and shorts were found at Pretty Penny , another of my favorite vintage shops in the bay area. If you haven't been to the bay, and you like to shop (especially vintage), you should check those places out for sure. I didn't post pictures of all of the clothes because it was taking much too long and I should do other things right now.

home for spring break

I'm back in Oakland for spring break until Sunday. I went shopping with Livers and Myenety (and Carter, Zoƫ, etc) yesterday - Livia and Myene got these Moon Patrol sunglasses, pretty badass if you ask me.

papercuts

I finished the project on Friday but this is a picture from before that. I'll have to take pictures of the papercuts when I hang them in the window.

OxRainbow

We came outside to walk to the lecture last Tuesday evening and there was a huge double rainbow! Lovely!
