Monday

I've sewn ten of the paper-cuts together (actually eleven now, but this only shows ten) and I have until Friday to finish the project. I think I'm almost done but I'm not sure if I want to add more squares on. I plan on hanging it in the window where the sun is strongest but I'm a bit concerned about if the light will damage my paper. We'll see.

MILK

I went to Whole Foods today and got some moaaaarrr mellkkk! Hooray! Now I have three bottles to return to the market to get $1.50 for each bottle (as they return the bottles to Straus, which is also nice) - probably just enough to buy another bottle. Aaaand I didn't drop my spoon in the milk like last time! I also got those chocolate cat cookies and cheese crunchies and goat cheese. I'm pretty excited. Now back to those papercuts.

for my mom

I made this book/journal for my mom for her 50th birthday (which was yesterday) and I gave it to her and then I realized this was the only picture I had taken of it - with PhotoBooth, oh well. I found some nice floral paper for the cover and I learned the coptic stitch! I'd say it turned out pretty nice.

the beginning

These paper cuts are for Project X at Oxbow. I'm hoping to hang them in a sort of web in the sunlight in a window so that the light can reflect through the slits onto the floor or onto skin passing by. I have ten of them now but I think I need to make quite a few more. I only have until next Friday to finish the entire project so hopefully I can get it all together by then.
